Well, you've got to expect a few glitches now and again with a 30-year old house.
The dishwasher was replaced the month we bought the house in 2004. The water heater went out on Halloween of 2005. And this year's must-do project turned out to be repairing the master bath floor. What fun!
The soft spot in the corner of the floor next to the tub got the whole project started...
Tearing up the new floor, we found an old floor. Not good

Digging down further, we found the parts that needed to be replaced.
We replaced a 2 x 4 foot section of the subfloor, reinforced the sub-structure, added porcelain tile, and replaced the fixtures.
