Overhead Door
The Second One Was a Lot Easier!
The First Overhead Door was a challenge. Once again, the high-quality product arrived with minimal instructions. Of course, on the up-side, once you assemble one, you hardly need the instructions.
After the difficulty we had raising the first door over 11 feet in the air, Bob built a sturdy jig to hold the door out at the end of the forks. [Engineering Alert: Yes, Bob checked the loading of the 300 lb door on the forks designed for 1,200 lbs on a bucket capable of lifting 1,600 lbs. Not a problem.]
Each door has a chain hoist - tough to push it up the last few inches when you're standing on the ground. This is the first door - it has a right-hand hoist.
Yes, that little tag is verrrrrry helpful in tying some kind of anchor knot with the hoisting chain. I'll use a bolt, thank you very much.
Lifting the second door into place after mounting the brackets and the chain hoist gears.
A whole lot easier when it's a whole lot higher.
A Good Looking Barn.
