Mother's Crumb Cake From the kitchen of Aunt Loretta
My mother made this cake a lot. With 5 children going to school and dad going to work, we all took lunches. I remember my mother making this after supper for the next day's lunches. She knew the recipe by heart and it was not written down. One day my mother became ill and I made the cake. Mom was lying down on the couch in the living room and I made the cake. I was in the kitchen baking the cake but I had to run back to the living room to get the directions. I wrote the recipe down as mom gave me the instructions as I ran back and forth between the kitchen and living room.
