Retaining Wall Number One

As the backyard landscaping project progresses into its next phase, the first step is a large step created by a retaining wall. This will help the already completed work to remain in place, and allow us to create more useable space in a series of terraces on the rear of the lot.

Each retaining wall will be about two feet high. Storage (firewood), shrubs, a garden/green house, and no-mainentance ground covering are planned for the terraces.

The first step was to dig a ditch and build a retaining wall along one side.
